The Demiurges, or "overgods," are higher deities in the Lust-verse. The three Demiurges are Transformation, Essence, and Matter - creators, destroyers, and silent observers. Physical matter is infused with Essence and Transformation turns them into new ideas and universes.
The first universes created this way did not survive long and the Demiurges continually destroyed them with the corrupting cancer known as Ghar'ne so they could try again. Eventually the Demiurges decided to appoint a Trinity into each universe - comprised of an avatar of each Demiurge - to oversee the universe after creation. This approach proved more successful and the new universes grew and evolved - matter infused with Essence and then transformed into new things.
Lusst'ghaa became a notable exception to this order when lauv'abrarc (Lusst'ghaa's avatar of Transformation) transformed his people into the Changed, beings who only experienced lust and orgasm. Since the denizens of Lusst'ghaa no longer grew and evolved, Lusst'ghaa was no longer capable of Transformation. The Demiurges responded by inflicting Ghar'ne upon Lusst'ghaa, dooming the world to ruin. lauv'abrarc attempted to flee Lusst'ghaa to turn other worlds into similar lands of eternal ecstasy, but the Transformation Demiurge captured him, brought him back to Lusst'ghaa, and imprisoned him within Xu'thrar.
